2011 National Championship Air Races - Reno Nevada
Below you will find the galleries to the 2011 National Championship Air Races. On Friday afternoon September 16th, during the Unlimited Gold Heat race, something happened to the P-51 Mustang "The Galloping Ghost". The resulting crash killed pilot Jimmy Leeward, ten spectators, and injured dozens. The weekend's remaining races were cancelled. These galleries are dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives, and were injured that day.
